PARAM, MCHGRMV

Bulk Data Entry Controls the participation of elements removed by MODCHG in the analysis.

MCHGRMV <0, 1>
= 0 (Default)
Removed elements do not participate in analysis.
= 1
Removed elements participate in analysis, but with a very small stiffness. Using PARAM,MCHGRMV,1 can avoid mesh distortion when elements are re-activated after a large deformation of the structure in the preceding subcase.

Comments

  1. This parameter is supported for both small and large displacement analysis. Currently supported elements are:
    • Solid elements with PSOLID and difference types of material (except, MATHE)
    • Solid elements with PCOMPLS
    • Shell elements with PSHELL, PCOMP
    • CBAR, CROD, and CBUSH elements
