Markers Panel

Use the Markers panel to create, review and update sensor entities.

Location: 1D page
Note: Only available in the OptiStruct solver interface.

The sensor entity directly corresponds to the OptiStruct MARKER definition which is used only in Multi-Body Dynamics Analysis.

Create Subpanel

Use the Create subpanel to create a new marker.
Option Action
marker name = Specify a name for the new marker, or double-click to select an existing marker.
color: Select a color for the marker.
Note: Markers are only visible in the Model Browser; markers have no visual representation in the modeling window.
location: node Select a node to define the location of the marker.
orientation: system Select a coordinate system that defines the orientation of the marker. If no system is selected, then the global system is the default.
orientation: edit If the desired coordinate system does not already exist, click edit to open the Systems panel for quick access to create a new one.

Update Subpanel

Use the Update subpanel to update an existing marker.
Option Action
markers Select an existing marker.
color Select a color for the marker.
Note: Markers are only visible in the Model Browser; markers have no visual representation in the modeling window.
location: node Select a node to define the location of the marker.
orientation: system Select a coordinate system that defines the orientation of the marker. If no system is selected, then the global system is the default.
orientation: edit Open the Systems panel to edit a system or create a new one.

Command Buttons

Button Action
create Create a new marker.
review Click review and select a marker to visualize. The referenced node and system will highlight.
Note: There is no graphical representation for Markers. The review functionality will allow you to visualize the node and coordinate system referenced by the Marker.
update Update a marker after changing its location, orientation or color. A new, temporary panel opens, with checkboxes to allow you to select any combination of these characteristics to update.
