Remote Load

Apply distributed loads (tractions) to faces and/or spots that are statistically equivalent to a load applied on a single point.

  1. On the Project Tree, open the Analysis Workbench.
  2. Click on the desired Analysis branch.
  3. Next to Constraints, click the (Add) button.
  4. Choose (Remote load) from the list of loads.
  5. Choose the button to apply to either Faces or Spots.
  6. In the modeling window, select the desired faces/spots.
The Remote point coordinates autofill to match face/spot selection, but they can be adjusted in the dialog.
  7. Specify the Force and/or Moment directional components in the X, Y, and Z coordinate fields.
  8. For Non-linear structural analysis, specify either a follower force or a fixed direction force.
    1. Select the Follower load check box to specify a follower load.
    2. Clear the check box to specify a fixed direction load.
  9. Click OK.
