Direct Integration Method: Explicit Scheme

In transient dynamic analysis, the direct integration method is usually chosen. A few commonly used integration methods exist in the literature. 1 The method used in Radioss is derived from Newmark time integration scheme.

This section deals with time integration of accelerations, velocities and displacements. The general algorithm for computing accelerations, velocities and displacements is given. Stability and time step aspects are then discussed.
