/INTER/TYPE9

Block Format Keyword Describes the ALE Lagrange with void opening and free space. Non-impacted ALE nodes are on a free surface. The grid velocity is equal to the material velocity in normal direction. The normal of the main surface elements must be oriented toward the secondary nodes.

This interface is used as ALE free surface.

(Integer)

IEUL Eulerian behavior in tangent direction flag
= 1
The grid velocity is set to zero in the tangent direction of the surface for non-impacted secondary nodes. The grid velocity of impacted nodes is fixed by the main segment. Flag IEUL is ignored for secondary nodes having a grid boundary condition.

(Integer)

= 0
No upwind

Comments

  1. Format Line 5 is not compatible with the main/secondary formulation of rigid bodies. If some nodes of the Lagrangian main surface are in a rigid body, the rigid body motion does not take into account the interfaces forces applied to these nodes.
