Radius/Diameter

Create and edit the radius/diameter dimension of an arc, circle, or the curvature of a NURBS curve, given a center and a point.

Create a Radius/Diameter Dimension

  1. On the ribbon, click the Dimensions tab.
  2. Click the Radius/Diameter icon.

  3. Drag to create a diameter dimension. To create a radius dimension, in the Control Panel, select Radius.
    Point is placed where you clicked, Center is placed where you released the mouse button, and Text Point is place in between the two points.

  5. Right-click and mouse through the check mark to exit, or double-right-click.

Edit the Radius/Diameter Dimension

  1. Double-click the dimension line to enter edit mode.
  2. Edit the dimension line:
    To Do this  
    Change the radius/diameter In the guide bar, enter a Dimension.  
    Reposition the arrow point
    • Drag Point 0.
    • Click Point 0, and then enter the x-, y- and z-coordinates.
     
    Reposition the text point
    • Drag Text Point.
    • Click Text Point, and then enter the x-, y- and z-coordinates.
     
    Reposition the text from the center Click and drag the Distance Edit the Distance parameter in the control panel
    Reposition the center point
    • Drag Center.
    • Click Center , and then enter the x-, y- and z-coordinates.
     
    Mark the center with a cross In the Control Panel, select Mark the Center.  
    Add a label
    1. In the Control Panel, select Insert text.
    2. Enter the Text.
    To insert the dimension value in Insert text, enter the dollar symbol ($) in place of the value. If the text contains more than one dollar symbol, only the first will be substituted by the dimension value.
  3. Right-click and mouse through the check mark to exit, or double-right-click.
