# Magnetic Modelling

This option specifies the model (method) used to define a dielectric or metallic medium.

## Constant (Frequency independent)

Relative permeability
Relative permittivity ${\mu }_{r}$ of the medium.
Magnetic loss tangent
Magnetic loss tangent $\mathrm{tan}{\delta }_{u}$ of the medium (the complex permeability is then given by $\mu ={\mu }_{0}{\mu }_{r}\left(1-j\mathrm{tan}{\delta }_{\mu }\right)$ ).
Conductivity
Conductivity $\sigma$ in $\frac{1}{\Omega m}$ of the medium.

## Specify points in the *.pre file (linear interpolation)

Frequency
The frequency for the specific data point.
Relative permittivity
Relative permittivity ${\mu }_{r}$ of the medium at a specific frequency.
Magnetic loss tangent
Magnetic loss tangent $\mathrm{tan}{\delta }_{u}$ of the medium (the complex permeability is then given by $\mu ={\mu }_{0}{\mu }_{r}\left(1-j\mathrm{tan}{\delta }_{\mu }\right)$ ).
Conductivity
Conductivity $\sigma$ in $\frac{1}{\Omega m}$ of the medium at a specific frequency.
