# Magnetic Modelling

This option specifies the model (method) used to define a dielectric or metallic medium.

## Constant (Frequency independent)

- Relative permeability
- Relative permittivity ${\mu}_{r}$ of the medium.
- Magnetic loss tangent
- Magnetic loss tangent $\mathrm{tan}{\delta}_{u}$ of the medium (the complex permeability is then given by $\mu ={\mu}_{0}{\mu}_{r}(1-j\mathrm{tan}{\delta}_{\mu})$ ).
- Conductivity
- Conductivity $\sigma $ in $\frac{1}{\Omega m}$ of the medium.

## Specify points in the *.pre file (linear interpolation)

- Frequency
- The frequency for the specific data point.
- Relative permittivity
- Relative permittivity ${\mu}_{r}$ of the medium at a specific frequency.
- Magnetic loss tangent
- Magnetic loss tangent $\mathrm{tan}{\delta}_{u}$ of the medium (the complex permeability is then given by $\mu ={\mu}_{0}{\mu}_{r}(1-j\mathrm{tan}{\delta}_{\mu})$ ).
- Conductivity
- Conductivity $\sigma $ in $\frac{1}{\Omega m}$ of the medium at a specific frequency.
