Stabilizer Bars

The stabilizer bar helps to control body roll on turns. The Assembly Wizard allows selection of two types of stabilizer bars, single piece and two piece.

Front and rear suspensions use different system definitions of the stabilizer bar. The stabilizer bar connects the left and right wheels and therefore primarily acts like a spring and thereby reduces vehicle roll. The stabilizer bar can be used in either a half vehicle or a full vehicle models. The following stabilizer bars are supported in the Truck Library.

The one piece stabilizer bar makes use of a polybeam which serves as the force resisting element based on the properties assigned. The main body parts included in the stabar with links is shown in the following image.

The torsion spring is only found in the two piece stabilizer bar and is the force element that resists twisting. The main body parts included in the 2-piece stabar is shown in the following image.
