Pick Point Info

Obtain results at one or more points/faces on the model.

  1. In the Project Tree, open the Analysis Workbench.
  2. Click (Pick info).
  3. In the dialog, select a Response type from the drop-down menu.
  4. Depending on the analysis type, select one of the following in the drop-down menu.
    • For Fatigue, select the event.
    • For Multi-loadcases, select the load case.
    • For all other analyses, specify the Coordinate system.
  5. Choose one of the following methods for specifying points:
    Option Process
    Pick point
    1. Select the Pick point radio button.
    2. In the modeling window, select points on the model surface.
    Datum point set
    1. Select the Datum point set radio button.
    2. Select the desired point set in the drop-down menu.
    Pick face
    1. Select the Pick face radio button.
    2. In the modeling window, select faces on the model surface.
      Note: This option provides an average of the result value over the selected face. In Thermal analysis, the total thermal flux is provided along with average values.
    The dialog will display the points' coordinates, as well as analysis and results quantities.
  6. Optional: Activate the Evaluate average checkbox to determine average values between multiple selected points/faces.
  7. Optional: Activate the Hide labels checkbox to hide the display of points' label and ID in the graphics.
  8. For Structural analysis, evaluate rotation of a straight segment connecting any two picked points.
    1. Activate the Measure rotation of a segment between points checkbox.
    2. Select the desired two points from the list in the dialog.
  9. Optional: Save info to CSV file.
    1. Click the Save to CVS button.
    2. In the dialog, enter a file name and select a save location.
    3. Click Save.
