Tools Menu
The following features are available in the Tools menu:
- Auto-Contact
- Quickly and easily create one or more contact interfaces at once between several parts of your model. This tool is only available in NVH when the OptiStruct and Nastran solvers are loaded.
- Blocks
- Create and modify a block entity.
- Card Editor
- Select the entities that are viewed in the card image subpanel.
- Component Table
- Displays components and their associated attributes in an interactive table.
- Create Cards
- Displays a list of all available cards to create within the select user profile.
- Count
- Obtain a count of all the entities in your database.
- DDAM
- Setup a DDAM analysis for Abaqus, and use the Shock Spectra curves for a subsequent Response Spectum Analysis.
- Delete
- Delete data from a model database, preview and delete empty collectors and preview and delete unused property collectors, material collectors, or curves.
- Edit
- Modify existing entities using the Entity Sets, Blocks, Tags and Titles Update subpanels.
- Fatigue Process
- Create or open a fatigue analysis setup process.
- Frequency Response Process
- Set of process templates that use generic engineering data to automatically create frequency response analysis loadcases and associated solver cards.
- ID-Manager
- Manage all of the IDs for the entities that you create, and define ID ranges for all of the entities in each Include file in relation to the full model in order to avoid ID duplication.
- Load Collector Table
- Review and edit OptiStruct load collectors.
- Loadsteps Browser
- Create, manage and display loadsteps (sub-cases) and the associated control cards.
- Mass Details
- Review details about Mass, Center of Gravity (Cog) and Inertia of your model.
- Mass Trimming
- Create, define, and realize mass entities.
- Material Table
- Review and edit OptiStruct materials.
- Matrix Browser
- Explore HyperMesh and HyperView data entities and export the entities to external files for further analysis.
- Model Checker
- Checks the model for errors and warnings. This tool is available in the Nastran and OptiStruct solvers in NVH.
- NVH Macros
- Access pre-defined macros packaged with the NVH solution and also user defined macros.
- Organize
- Reorganize your database by copying or moving data (entities) among collectors or includes.
- Orientation Review
- Display/review and modify frequently used coordinate systems used in CAE analysis.
- Part Replacement
- Replace elements in an existing component/part (PSHELL) with new elements.
- Position
- Specify a new position for model entities.
- Pretension Manager
- Create and edit 1D and 3D pretension bolt loads and bolt sections for the OptiStruct solver. This tool is only available when the OptiStruct user profile is loaded.
- Property Table
- Displays properties and their associated attributes in an interactive table.
- Quick Access
- Quickly find and open the tools, panels and browsers that are available from the menu bar pull-downs or from the Utility Browser.
- Reflect
- Reflect portions of a model about a plane, changing the selected portion into a mirror image of itself.
- Renumber
- Renumber entities.
- Rotate
- Rotate entities around an axis in space.
- Scale
- Increase or decrease an entity’s dimensions.
- Set Browser
- Automate the grouping and display of model components through the entity set functionality.
- Sets
- Create, update and review named sets of entities.
- Solver
- Run an external program from within Engineering Solutions or assign and run a solver on selected analysis decks.
- Summary Template
- Obtain a summary of component element counts or element properties of the current model.
- Tags
- Assign names to entities.
- Titles
- Create, edit and move screen titles and entity tags.
- Transformation Tool
- Translate, scale, reflect or rotate elements with multiple numbers of copies including properties and loads attached to them.
- Translate
- Move entities in a single specified direction.
