FE Absorb Attachments

Create attachments from existing elements such as rigid patches or rigid spiders. You can specify the elements to be absorbed, or you can allow HyperMesh to search and find the suitable elements in the model. OptiStruct can realize attachments without elements but only as a nodeset.

1. From the Connectors ribbon, Attachments tool group, click the FE Absorb Attachments tool.

2. Click on the guide bar to change the selection method.
   If set to Manual, use the selector to choose elements.
3. Select an attachment control type from the drop-down menu.
   If you select Undefined, the connector will be created without a control.
4. On the guide bar, click one of the following:
   • - Save changes and stay in the tool
   • - Save changes and close the tool
   • - Exit the tool without saving changes
