Create a new object between solids.

Intersection

Create a new object by keeping the intersecting surfaces of two or more solids.

  1. On the ribbon, click the Modify tab.
  2. Click the Intersection icon.

  3. Select the first set of objects. Right-click to confirm.
  4. Select the second set of objects. Right-click to confirm.
  5. Right-click and mouse through the check mark to exit, or double-right-click.

Subtraction

Create a new object by subtracting one or more solids from another solid.

  1. On the ribbon, click the Modify tab.
  2. Click the Subtraction icon.

  3. Select the first set of objects. Right-click to confirm.
  4. Select the second set of objects. Right-click to confirm.
    By default, the second set is subtracted from the first.
  5. Optional: In the guide bar, define the operation order by selecting one of the following options:
    • Objects 1 - Objects 2
    • Objects 2 - Objects 1
  6. Right-click and mouse through the check mark to exit, or double-right-click.

Union

Create a new object by merging one or more solids.

Unlike the Combine tool, which works with any kind of object, the Union tool can only be performed with solids and outputs a single solid object.
  1. On the ribbon, click the Modify tab.
  2. Click the Union icon.

  3. Select the objects to merge. Right-click to confirm.
  4. Right-click and mouse through the check mark to exit, or double-right-click.
