Tool Motion Dialog

Use this dialog to define the moving tool. The following fields and buttons appear on the Tool Motion dialog. Refer to the DEFORM documentation set for more details about the parameters you set here.

 

Field

Description

Moving tool

From the list, select the tool that will have the defined motion.

Moving control type

Choose whether the motion is controlled by speed or load.

Unit vector in X direction

Type a value for the unit direction vector for movement in the X direction.

Unit vector in Y direction

Type a value for the unit direction vector for movement in the Y direction.

Unit vector in Z direction

Type a value for the unit direction vector for movement in the Z direction.

Speed/load

Type a value for the speed or load. The value is interpreted as load or speed according to which value is selected in the Moving Control Type field.

Max stroke

Type a value that is the amount by which the top die must move to complete the forging. Note that you must also provide an appropriate gap for the flash.

Apply

Applies the current settings to the simulation.

Close

Closes the Tool Motion dialog.
