Suppress (Unsuppress) Entities

Suppress and Unsuppress joints, fasteners, and motion entities in a model.

You can Suppress and Unsuppress joints, fasteners, and motion entities (such as springs and motion contacts) to better understand their effects on system behavior. When an entity is suppressed, it is removed from the model along with its dependents, but is not deleted. A suppressed entity appears in the Model Browser in a disabled state, and is not considered in the motion analysis.
  1. To suppress an entity, right-click the entity.
  2. From the context menu, select Suppress.

The entity is removed from view in the model, and appears grayed out and in italics in the Model Model Browser and Table to indicate its deactivated state.

  3. To unsupress an entity, from the Model Browser or Table, right-click the entity and select Unsuppress.

The entity is restored in the model and is no longer grayed out in the Model Browser or Table.
Tip: If a feature is suppressed, it will not be exported with the .mdl file when you click Export.
