Layer Objects
You can use layers to show and hide collections of objects to reduce visual clutter.
You can create layers using the right-click context menu in the Model Browser, and then drag objects into and out of those layers. You can also show and hide all of the objects in a layer, assign a color to all of the objects and curves in a layer, and lock the objects in a layer so they are unselectable in the modeling views.
- On the Model Browser, click the Layers tab.

You can do the following:
To Do this Add a layer Right-click in the Model Browser, and then select Add Layers. The new layer is set as the current layer. Any currently selected objects will automatically be moved to the new layer.
Rename a layer - Right-click the layer name, and then select Rename [Layer Name].
- Type a name, and then press Enter.
Delete a layer Right-click the layer name, and then select Delete Layers. Show or hide a layer - To show a layer, next to the layer name, click .
- To hide a layer, next to the layer name, click .
Lock or unlock a layer - To lock a layer, next the layer name, click .
- To unlock a layer, next to the layer name, click the empty cell under Locked (not selectable) .
Change the color of the objects in a layer Next to the layer name, click the cell under Object color , and then select a color. Change the color of the curves in a layer Next to the layer name, click the cell under Curve color , and then select a color.
