Using the Contour, Tensor Plot, and Vector Plot Panels for Nastran Results
The options on the Contour, Tensor Plot, and Vector Plot panels in HyperView are based on the Nastran and OptiStruct solvers.
The only Nastran-specific option is Entity with Layers, in which Z1 and Z2 are available in the drop-down list. Z2 corresponds to the upper shell layer as defined by Nastran. Z1 corresponds to the lower shell layer as defined by Nastran.
- Extreme
- Max
- Min
- Z1 (stress)
- Z2 (stress)
- Z1/Z0 (strain)
- Curvature (strain)
For each layer, an associated min and max value are calculated. Refer the following example.
Example
Element 1 Z2 = -20, Z1 = 10
Element 2 Z2 = -5, Z1 = 30
The layers would be defined as:
Max = -5, Min = -20
Max = 30, Min = 10
Max = -5, Min = -20
Max = 30, Min = 10
Max = 30, Min = -20
Refer to the HyperView online help for Contour, Tensor Plot, and Vector Plot panels for full descriptions of each option.
