Export for AcuSolve
AcuSolve
AcuSolve is a CFD generalist solver from Altair HyperWorks suit. Contrary to other CFD tools, AcuSolve is based on finite elements method. That allows to be strongly linked to other FEA technologies (Finite Element Analysis) to solve fluid-structure complex interactions and multiphysics problems, as with Flux.
Export for AcuSolve
To answer to magneto-thermal coupling needs, quoted in the previous chapters, a strong coupling / cosimulation between Flux and AcuSolve is currently in progress.
In the meantime, it is possible now in Flux3D to export data readable by AcuSolve. As the cosimulations presented previously, the aim will be to export power densities (computed in static or averaged on one time period). In AcuSolve, a static simulation taking the heat sources into account is done.
The export is done in Nastran file .
Limitations and remarks
For this version, user has to take into account the following remarks and limitations:
- The Flux project must be in 3D
- The computation and export is done on Flux mesh. The Flux data are then interpolated in AcuSolve. By consequence, the Flux mesh should be fine.
Procedure
The Flux3D data export procedure is presented below:
Step | Action |
---|---|
0 | Build and solve the Flux magnetic project |

In case of magnetic transient simulation, create a “spatial transient computation” averaging on time the quantity to export. The command is available in the following menu: Advanced/Spatial transient computation (min., max., average., …) As input:
As output: Spatial quantity containing the averaged values |
