Known Issues: 2020

Following is a list of known issues for the 2020 releases.

Known Issues: 2020.1

  • Incorrect radial bead pattern causes a solver error. [IN-16311]
  • Topography with max stiffness run fails. [IN-19718]
  • Segmentation error occurs when creating a new file after opening an stmod with finite element data. [IN-20008]
  • Optimization fails after exporting an .stmod file as a .fem file and then re-importing it into Inspire. [IN-20764]
  • Run will not finish and returns error 3423. [IN-22134]
  • Enhanced tooltips appear in English for all languages. [IN-22291]
  • If a part has boundary conditions applied to it using the Structures tab, and then a print analysis is run using the Print3D tab, the boundary conditions are deleted. [IN-22301]
  • Show All Load Cases is not displaying boundary conditions when they are applied on a hidden part. [IN-22315]
  • Isolate Loads and Parts option on the load case table is not isolating correctly. [IN-22316]
  • Creating a concentrated mass on face applies it to a point instead. [IN-22336]
  • Error message for overlapping parts needs to be updated to reflect changes to disconnected groups workflow. [IN-22348]
  • Issue connecting a concentrated mass part to an edge. [IN-22366]
  • Lattice Fill fails when using the Opposite Surfaces option. [IN-22370]
  • Altair One cloud bursting is not yet available, but Altair One is still showing as an option in the Run pull-down menu. [IN-22374]
  • Crash with PolyNURBS Pave tool. [VWT-1731]
  • Forces created in the Structures tab are not being handled properly when using Make Current Frame the New Design Position button available from the motion animation toolbar. After using that button, you may observe that the force glyph is not repositioned or reoriented correctly. The workaround is to manually move the force after the new design position has been updated, or to delete the force and create a new one having the desired location and orientation. [IM-3425]
  • Any part connections to a concentrated mass that were established using the Connect Concentrated Mass button on the Concentrated Mass microdialog are not working for motion analysis. The workaround is to use the Connectors tool from the Structures ribbon instead, which creates an explicit connector entity. [IM-3427]

Known Issues: 2020

  • Cannot run OptiStruct analysis on models where boundary conditions are applied to floating edges or points. [IN-20813]
  • The Closed status is not shown on callouts for contact analysis results. [IN-19522]
  • Contacts need to be found before the model is run or they will not display correctly. [IN-21487]
  • When you push pull a part or slide it (where contact is still maintained), the contact type changes to bonded. [IN-21517]
  • Fasteners and contacts are not included in the manual resultant value when using SimSolid reaction forces. [IN-20767]
  • When using SimSolid reaction forces, models that are out of sync with the last SimSolid analysis results will not display properly. [IN-20767]
  • If you apply a torque to a rod or a shaft, then use the microdialog to apply it to a face instead, you cannot orient it normal to surface. [IN-21157]
  • The Shrinkwrap tool is creating multiple small pieces when a small voxel size is used. [IN-21342]
