Change the Display Mode

Select a display mode for the scene.

Display Mode Description
Interactive Rendering modes

The Interactive rendering modes are used to tweak materials and the environment before producing a final rendering.
  1. In the view controls, click the Interactive Rendering modes icon.

  2. Select an interactive rendering mode:
    • RealTime Fast
    • RealTime Accurate : Recommended for interior scenes.
    • Presto (default)
Wireframe

The wireframe mode offers the fastest display. Objects are displayed as curve meshes.
  • In the view controls, click Display Modes , and then select Wireframe .
  • Press 1.
Shaded

The shaded mode is useful for seeing the shape of objects and how lights illuminate the scene.
  • In the view controls, click Display Modes , and then select Shaded.
  • Press 2.
MatCap

The MatCap mode allows you to apply a "material capture" to an object. The MatCap is a complete material that includes lighting and reflection, to quickly sculpt or render the object.
  • In the view controls, click Display Modes , select MatCap, and then select an image.

    A few default shaders are available; you can find more online.

  • Press 3.
Zebra

The zebra mode is useful for spotting discontinuities between adjacent surfaces.
  • In the view controls, click Display Modes , select Zebra Stripes, and then select horizontal or vertical stripes.
  • Press 4.
Materials

The materials mode provides a fast, realistic visualization of materials and lights. You can use it to model or set up an animation.
  • In the view controls, click Display Modes , and then select Materials .
  • Press 5.
No Edges or Isoparms

View your model with no edges or isoparm lines.
  • In the view controls, click Display Modes , and then select No Edges or Isoparms.
  • Press R.
Edges

View your model with edges only.
  • In the view controls, click Display Modes , and then select Edges.
  • Press T.
Edges and Isoparms

View your model with edges and isoparm lines.
  • In the view controls, click Display Modes , and then select Edges and Isoparms .
  • Press Y.
