Interactive Rendering

The Interactive rendering modes are display modes that render your scene in real time, so you can interactively apply materials, modify the environment, and change the camera position.

Note:
  • The Interactive Rendering mode icons are in the bottom left of each modeling view near the other display mode icons.
  • You cannot create, modify, or delete objects (including lights) during interactive rendering mode. To perform these tasks, exit interactive rendering and return to modeling.

To Do this Note
Start interactive rendering
  1. Click the Interactive Rendering modes icon.

  2. Select an interactive rendering mode:
    • RealTime Fast
    • RealTime Accurate : Recommended for interior scenes.
    • Presto (default)
The scene will transform from grainy to clear based on the speed of your computer.
Pause or resume interactive rendering (Presto only)
  1. Click the Interactive Rendering modes icon again.

  2. Click Presto again.

The flashing icon indicates that interactive rendering is paused.
Exit interactive rendering Click another display mode icon:
  • Wireframe
  • Shaded
  • MatCap
  • Zebra
  • Materials
Exit interactive rendering to return to creating, modifying, or deleting objects (including lights).
Change the Presto interactive rendering settings
  1. Do one of the following:
    • Right-click the Presto icon.
    • On the Rendering tab, click the Camera / Rendering icon.

  2. On the Engine tab, select Presto/IR from the drop-down list.
Presto GPU support for macOS 10.14 (Mojave) and above is unavailable due to driver incompatibility. In this case, CPU is used.
Reset internal cache While holding down Ctrl, right-click the Interactive Rendering modes icon.
