Hiding and Displaying Fields

Hiding a field removes it from Table View. Hidden fields are not available for copy, print and export operations, but remain available for use in filter, find and calculated field expressions and in summary definitions.

Hiding Fields via the context menu

Steps:

  1. Right-click on the field you wish to hide.

  2. Select Hide from the context menu.

Re-displaying fields via the context menu

Steps:

  1. Right-click on any field in the table.

  2. Select Show Hidden Field from the context menu, then select the field you wish to display from the drop-down list.

Hiding or re-displaying fields via the Field List dialog

Steps:

  1. Select Field List from the Table Design ribbon. The Field List window displays. This window displays the properties for all fields in the table, including the field types.

  2. Ensure that the Show Template Properties check box is selected. This check box is located at the lower-left corner of the Field List window.

  3. To hide a field, select the appropriate check box in the Hidden column. To re-display a field, unselect its Hidden check box.

  1. Repeat step 3 to hide (or re-display) additional fields.

  2. Click Accept to close the Field List window and apply the changes to the table.

Hiding fields via the Field Properties dialog

Steps:

  1. Select Input Fields, Database Fields, Formula Fields, Lookup Fields, Runtime Parameter Fields, or User Edit Fields from the Table Design Ribbon.

  2. Select the Hidden checkbox on the General tab.

  3. Select Accept.
