The Adapt button on the main menu runs a single adaptation cycle based on the parameters set on the Adaptation Parameters panel. During this cycle the error estimator is fired only once at the beginning of the process and only if it has not already been evaluated. Also, during the refinement process the element errors are redistributed but the magnitude of the global error does not change. The global error changes after the system of equations is solved on the new mesh. Adaptation process results are displayed on the screen for each sub-cycle pass and may be viewed with the post-processor after the adaptation cycle is complete.
