- Terminology
  Common terminology used with the HyperWorks collaboration features is described in this section.
- Contents and Content Definition
  Content refers to any information stored in a library. Content Definitions encapsulate information about the types of information managed by the HyperWorks libraries.
- Open the Organize Browser
  Use the Organize browser to organize your data and use it inside HyperWorks.
  - Repositories
    HyperWorks has one out-of-the-box repository, Personal (managed repository).
  - Libraries
    Libraries can be created within a repository to logically organize or group the contents stored within a repository. Repositories can contain one or more libraries.
  - Create a New Workspace
    A workspace is a local directory where files are retrieved from the vault so that they can be viewed and/or modified.
  - Folders and Categories
    Content inside a library can be organized by folders and categories.
  - Content Browser
    The Content Browser is the main component of the Organize browser and displays library content in many ways, according to options available from the toolbar.
  - Properties Panel
    The Properties panel shows metadata names and values for the selected object in the Content Browser.
  - Set Preferences
    Use the Content Browser to set your preferences.
  - Data Authoring
  - Browse and Query Contents
    - Category and Folder View
      Use the Category view to view the library contents according to category. Use the Folder view to view the library contents according to what folders they reside in.
    - Show and Hide References
      Contents that refer to other contents are indicated with the Show/Hide References icon.
    - Show and Hide Properties
    - Repository and Workspace View
      For managed libraries it is possible to see all contents belonging to the library (Repository view) or only the content whose documents are retrieved in the current workspace (Workspace view).
    - Show/Hide Recycle Bin
      The recycle bin works in much the same way as the recycle bin on the Windows operating system. Contents that have been deleted from the library are moved to the recycle bin.
    - Find Contents
    - Filter Contents
      Filter contents by using the Filter toolbar.
    - Export Contents
      You can export and create a new library with selected contents from your active library.
    - Import a Library
    - Labeling
      Labeling is a convenient way to associate groups of related contents together so they can be easily retrieved and viewed as a set.
    - Search for Contents
    - Lifecycle Operations
      Lifecycle operations include operations such as Get, which retrieves a content to your workspace, and Check-Out and Check-In, which result in versioning of contents.
- Open the Explore Dialog
  The Explore dialog provides enhanced capabilities for searching for and retrieving data, beyond what is provided from typical file browse dialogs.
- Add Subscribed Parts
  Use the Subscribe dialog to register or subscribe to parts or items of interest that reside within a corporate PDM system. Once the parts have been subscribed to, the dialog helps to ensure that you are working with the latest information by allowing you to quickly check whether any subscribed to parts have been updated, and to seamlessly retrieve updated information and files for those that have.
- Add MotionView Models into the Library
  MotionView supports a limited version of interface with HyperWorks Collaboration Tools.
- Material Library
  HyperWorks Collaboration Tools comes with an out-of-the-box profile, which is tailored specifically for organizing and managing material information and data.
- Reference Guide
HyperWorks Desktop Reference Guides
Overview of external readers and the Altair Binary Format, the generic ASCII reader, running HyperWorks in batch mode, using Tcl/Tk commands, translators, and result math.

Show and Hide Properties

Click the Show/Hide icon to view a content's properties.
Optional: Un-click the Show/Hide icon if you choose not to view a content's properties.
