Add/Edit Gate

If you haven't designed any gates in a CAD tool, you can create and edit virtual gates in Inspire Cast.

  1. Click the Casting tab.
  2. On the Gate icon, click Add/Edit Gate.

  3. Click a surface, on the runner or part, to create a virtual gate.
    Selected gates are displayed in dark red. The total number of gates is displayed above the Gate icon.
  4. Use the microdialog options to define the position, shape, and dimensions.
  5. Optional: To create more virtual gates, click a surface on the runner or part.
  6. Right-click and mouse through the check mark to exit, or double-right-click.
To edit a virtual gate, click the Add/Edit Gate tool, and then click the gate.

Option Description
Move

Click to define the position and angle of the gate.
Shape

Select a Circular or Rectangular gate.
Dimensions



  • For a Circular gate, define the Radius.
  • For a Rectangular gate, define the Width and Height.
