Folders Options

Use this window to specify the default folder locations where Monarch Classic should look for the various file types that it needs. You can also use this dialog to specify the default file types Monarch Classic uses when opening report files, importing and creating external lookups, and exporting data.

For each file type you may specify that you want Monarch Classic to "start at default folder" or to "Track between sessions". Select "Start at default folder" if you want Monarch Classic to first look for a particular file type in the specified default folder. Select "Track between sessions" if you'd like Monarch Classic to keep track of the folders used in the current Monarch Classic session, and to resume the use of the same folders at the start of the next session. "Track between sessions" continuously tracks and updates the folders used upon exiting Monarch Classic, so that the tracking can resume at the same folders when the next Monarch Classic session begins.

To access this window select Options from the Home ribbon, then select Folders from the Options Window ribbon.

Note: For project files and export files you have a third option you can specify. For project files you can specify "use model folder" and for export files you can specify "use report folder".

Field	Description
Report Files	Use this box to specify that, when opening report files, you want Monarch Classic to start at the default folder or to track between Monarch Classic sessions. Select "Start at default folder" if you want Monarch Classic to first look for report files in the default folder specified in the adjacent field. Select "Track between sessions" if you'd like Monarch Classic to keep track of the folder used in the current Monarch Classic session, and to resume the use of the same folder in the next Monarch Classic session.
Import & External Lookup Files	Use this box to specify that, when importing files or creating external lookups, you want Monarch Classic to start at the default folder or to track between Monarch Classic sessions. Select "Start at default folder" if you want Monarch Classic to first look for import and external lookup files in the default folder specified in the adjacent field. Select "Track between sessions" if you'd like Monarch Classic to keep track of the folder used in the current Monarch Classic session, and to resume the use of the same folder in the next Monarch Classic session.
Model Files	Use this box to specify that, when opening model files, you want Monarch Classic to start at the default folder or to track between Monarch Classic sessions. Select "Start at default folder" if you want Monarch Classic to first look for model files in the default folder specified in the adjacent field. Select "Track between sessions" if you'd like Monarch Classic to keep track of the folder used in the current Monarch Classic session, and to resume the use of the same folder in the next Monarch Classic session.
Project Files	Use this box to specify that, when opening project files, you want Monarch Classic to start at the default folder or to track between Monarch Classic sessions. Select "Start at default folder" if you want Monarch Classic to first look for project files in the default folder specified in the adjacent field. Select "Track between sessions" if you'd like Monarch Classic to keep track of the folder used in the current Monarch Classic session, and to resume the use of the same folder at the start of the next session. Select "use model folder" if you want Monarch Classic to look for/save project files in the default model file folder.
Export Files	Use this box to specify that, when creating export files, you want Monarch Classic to start at the default folder, to track between Monarch Classic sessions or to use the report folder. Select "Start at default folder" if you want Monarch Classic to create export files in the default folder specified in the adjacent field. Select "Track between sessions" if you'd like Monarch Classic to keep track of the folder used in the current Monarch Classic session, and to resume the use of the same folder in the next Monarch Classic session. Select "Use report folder" if you want Monarch Classic to create export files in the default report file folder.
Default Folder	Displays the default storage locations for the various file types. To change any one of the default locations, click the adjacent folder icon and use the Browse for Folder dialog to select a different folder.
Default Extension	Displays the default file types used by Monarch Classic when opening report files, importing and creating external lookups, opening model and project files, and exporting data. Note: You can modify the default file types for report files, import and external lookup files, and export files, by selecting different file extensions from the drop-down lists.
