Selecting Materials

Use the Materials tool to select materials for resin and preform.

Selecting Resin

Material selection has to be done before identifying the plates.

  1. From the Resin Transfer Molding ribbon, click the Materials tool.
  2. In the Material Database dialog, to the right of , click the triangle and select Resin.
  3. Select the appropriate material for the analysis by right-clicking on the material and selecting Select from the context menu, or click .
    Note: Inspire Resin Transfer Molding does not support multiple resins, so one material is adequate for the simulation. You can select more than one material, but only one is used.
    You can review the properties of a material in the tabs on the right side.
Selected resin will be an available choice in the Plates tool.

Selecting Preform

Material selection has to be done before identifying the part cavities.

  1. From the Resin Transfer Molding ribbon, click the Materials tool.
  2. In the Material Database dialog, to the right of , click the triangle and select Preform.
  3. Select the appropriate material for the analysis by right-clicking on the material and selecting Select from the context menu, or click .
    Note: You can select a different preform material for each part cavity.
    You can review the properties of a material in the tabs on the right side.
Selected preform materials will be available choices in the Part tool.
