Using Blank Nesting

1.Click the New Session icon, and click the Import file icon and select a file(s) to import.
2.On the Setup tab, select the Nesting Setup option as either Coil or Sheet by clicking the appropriate radio button.
3.Using the Margin fields, enter or modify the values to establish the varying margins along the blank boundary.
4.Under Move Part, enter or modify the values to specify the blank movement control. These values will apply to the selected part. When you are in interactive mode, the fields will display the amount of translations and rotation that the part is going through.
5.After you have entered the values, click Apply to accept the values, or Reject to reject them.
6.Click the Measure tab. In the fields, enter the interactive measure of distance between selected points on the part edge on the graphics screen. Distance is displayed on the graphics area or in the setup area in the respective fields.

Note: When you click the mouse button, the cursor snaps to the closest edge.

7.Click the Auto Nest - Translate icon position_adjacent. This will snap the blanks next to each other such that it maximizes percentage utilization without rotating the blanks.
8.Click the Auto Nest - Rotate icon rotate_together. This will rotate all the blanks together relative to the sheet/coil and aligns them such that it maximizes percentage utilization without rotating the blanks.

 

Manipulating the Blank Nesting

You can translate and rotate by clicking and dragging, or constrain the motion to translation by also holding the CTRL key. Many other actions can be accomplished from the context menu, such as duplicating the blank, flipping the blank on the X or Y axis, and deleting a blank. While you manipulate the blank, the utilization data are constantly updated.
