The Solve button on the main menu executes the selected solver combined with the expert system (if applicable) and automatic adaptation passes (if requested). The number of automatic adaptation passes is set with the Number of Adaptive Cycles option on the Adaptation Parameters panel. For time dependent problems, the maximum number of time steps and the frequency to call the adaptive package can also be set. The adaptive package is called within the solver at the user-specified frequency. The solution is saved at the user-specified frequency. In addition, the integral conservation variables (mass, momentum, and energy) at the boundaries are computed for every converged solution. When the solver is finished, the ready/wait indicator on the main menu changes from red to green. At this time the program will accept additional commands.
