Flux-StarCCM+ co-simulation: about

Introduction

The Flux-StarCCM+ coupling uses the Flux-Flux coupling method realized also for magneto-thermal coupling (but this one is generic and works for other applications). It uses the same communication way with synchronization files and results files.

Implementation

The procedure for coupling Flux and StarCCM+ is as follows:

  • Export thermal nodes coordinates
  • Create multipoints supports with magnetic nodes coordinates

Create :

  • multipoints supports with thermal nodes coordinates
  • multiphysic formula corresponding to the quantity to export
  • data to export (with information about multipoints support, multiphysic formula, ..)
  • data to import (with information about region, spatial quantity which will store the imported values,..)
  • cosimulation (cosimulation type,..)

  • define the data to import (volume where to import)
  • create multipoints supports and associate it to the corresponding regions
  • define the data to export (with the corresponding multipoints supports)
