Known Issues: 2021

Following is a list of known issues for the 2021 releases.

Known Issues: 2021.1

  • When suppressing features such as faces in construction history, child dependents are not correctly suppressed and may change position or orientation. [IN-19711]
  • Topography optimization with max stiffness fails in some cases. [IN-19718]
  • Grouped expressions are allowed in the Variable Manager, but certain expressions are invalid, such as multiplying two unit-based values. [IN-22073]
  • Inspire versions 2021.1 and later do not support Boolean history on PolyNURBS created in a version prior to 2021.1. If you edit the PolyNURBS part, the Boolean will disappear. If you want to edit a PolyNURBS created in a legacy .stmod file, you will need to open and edit it in that earlier version of Inspire. Alternatively, you can open it in Inspire 2021.1 or later, configure on the parts that were configured off as a result of the Boolean operation, and then reapply the Boolean, which will create a construction feature. [IN-22870]
  • Crash undoing loading results then running and trying to load the result again. [IN-24222]
  • Sketch reference entities are shown as orphans and a warning message is displayed, even if the sketch plane is moved in such a way that all the intersecting edges used as references are still available in the model. [IN-24820]
  • The Contact Status result type is missing from the Contact results. [IN-25308]
  • If you sketch on a revolved face and modify the revolve angle, sometimes the sketch changes position and does not stay on the sketched face. [IN-25354]
  • If you create a shrinkwrapped part on a result alternative, when you edit the shrinkwrap part, Inspire will switch to show the first alternative. [IN-25368]
  • Graphic is clipped after running a PolyNURBS shape optimization and switching to the first alternative. [IN-25392]
  • When a patch is created between a sketch and the edges of a model, there is a gap between the edges and the surface. Workaround is to extract the curves from sketches using the Extract tool, then Boolean them with the part to be patched. [IN-25409]

Known Issues: 2021

  • When exporting SimSolid .ssp file based on an .stmod file from an older version of Inspire, the model hierarchy for the assembly is not maintained. A workaround is to move the entire assembly, then Undo the move and export. [IN-23004]
  • SimSolid analysis fails for models imported as Parasolid and exported as STL. [IN-21168]
  • Bearing load on face is not identified by SimSolid as cylindrical. [IN-20945]
  • Issue with merged surface-to-surface contacts. [IN-19187]
  • Model hierarchy is not the same as in an assembly for old stmod files. [IN-23004]
  • When forces or enforced displacements are applied to a cylindrical coordinate system, the results are the same as for a Cartesian system. [IN-23423]
