Create and edit a 2D sketch curve, and then extrude it to create 3D solid geometry. A sketch curve is any "wire" entity
such as a line, rectangle, circle, or arc.
A part instance creates a copy of the part that is linked to the original part. When the original part is updated,
the instance is automatically updated as well.
On the Geometry ribbon, in the
Modify group, click
the Mirror tool.
On the Feasibility tab, in the
Prepare group, click the Mirror tool.
Optional: Click Parts, and then click one or more parts.
Click Plane, and then click to position the mirror
plane.
A preview of the mirror plane appears when you hover over the model. The part
to be mirrored is assumed based on what objects are selected and how you
position the mirror plane.
Choose from the following options:
Keep Original: Unselect this option to only keep
mirrored parts.
Instance: Link mirrored part to the original.
Whenever one part is updated, the other will be automatically updated as
well.
Click Mirror.
Tip:
To reposition the mirror plane using the Move tool, click .
To align the mirrored object to the x-, y-, or z-axis, click .
To merge two coincident faces, box select the faces before opening
the Mirror tool. This technique works well with
mirrored parts.
