Using Model Files to Store Lookup Parameters

When you store a model file for a Monarch Classic session in which you have established a lookup to an external database, Monarch Classic stores all of the lookup parameters, including the name of the external data source to which you linked.

If you send the model file to another Monarch Classic user, however, the path to the external database on that user’s system may differ from the path as specified on your system, so Monarch Classic may not be able to establish the lookup. In this case, the linked fields will be assigned null values and any filter, sort, calculated field, and summary definitions that rely upon these fields will be invalid.
