Using Model Files to Store Import Parameters

When you store a model file for a Monarch Classic session in which you have imported data from an external database, Monarch Classic stores the names of the imported fields and their Monarch Classic properties, but does not store the name of the external data source from which you imported the data, or any source filter. This allows the model file to remain portable; if you send a model file to another Monarch Classic user, the path to the external database on that user’s system may differ from the path as specified on your system. This is similar to the way Monarch Classic stores models that apply to a report file. As with report files, you must open the data source first, then open the model to apply to it.
