Altair® Monarch®

Report Verify View

The Verify view lets you verify whether your fields are defined properly. It does this by scanning the entire report for any fields where a character falls immediately adjacent to the field boundary. If an error is found, Monarch Classic suspends the operation to let you correct the field definition.

To access the Verify window, select Run Report Verify from the Report Design Ribbon.

Description

Accept

This button accepts the results of the verify operation.

Cancel

This button cancels the verify operation.

Adjust Left

When a left or right field boundary error is found, pressing this button expands the offending field by one character to the left or right. Note: This button is only visible when a left or right field boundary error occurs.

Adjust Right

When a left or right field boundary error is found, pressing this button shrinks the field by one character on its left or right side. Note: This button is only visible when a left or right field boundary error occurs.

Note: The location of the Plus and Minus Signs indicates whether the field boundary error occurs on the left or right side of the field. If the Plus and Minus Signs are located to the left of the Continue button, then the error is a left field boundary error. Likewise, if the Plus and Minus Signs appear to the right of the Continue button, the error is a right field boundary error.

Adjust All Fields

This button automatically adjusts all field definitions, thereby eliminating the need to go over an entire report to ensure that all required fields are captured properly.

Ignore All

Click this button to continue the verification process and ignore any subsequent hits of the type just reported (e.g., if there is a right boundary error, pressing this button will ignore all further right boundary errors for the current field. Left side or data type errors for the field would still be reported, though, as would right side or data type errors for any other fields). The list of ignored error types is preserved only for the duration of the Verify dialog. Once the dialog is closed, a fresh Verify will again report any previously ignored problems.

Status window

Displays a description of any error found during the verify operation and indicates when the verify operation has completed.

Continue

Continues the verify operation after correcting an issue

Start Over

Performs the entire verify operation again.

Stop

Stops the verify operation.

Reset Ignore Rules

Forget all the rules you have flagged using the Ignore button.
