Boundary Layer Minimum Aspect Ratio Flag

Boundary layer minimum aspect ratio flag sets the length-to-height aspect ratio target value for boundary layer elements.

In a typical Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) analysis, the anisotropy of a boundary layer mesh is such that the height is much less than the average edge length of a given element. In areas where the surface mesh is highly refined, the layer heights of the boundary layer may become larger than the width resulting in the creation of isotropic or tall-skinny elements. These elements are not desirable and so this feature will prune elements that fall below the boundary layer minimum aspect ratio value. The default value for Boundary layer minimum aspect ratio is set to 0.9 (width is 90 percent of the height). Setting a value of zero effectively disables the control since all valid elements have an aspect ratio >0.
