Combined Loadings

Study the squeak and rattle issues under combined loading conditions.

Using the Combined Loadings task panel, you can review and analyze the effects of Dynamic and Static loads on the gap and relative displacement.
Note: Combined Loadings activates only when dynamic and static loadcases are identified in the imported model file.
  1. Select Combined Loadings tab in the tool.
    Combined Loadings tab appears.
  2. Select a loadstep from Loading type 1 list.
  3. Select a static loadstep from Loading type 2 list.
  4. Enter Scale factor values.
  5. Optional: Check Affects gap box.
  6. Select required E-Line or All from E-Line(s) Selection list.
  7. Select required analysis type from Session Type.
    Available analysis types are-
    • Summary Analysis
    • Full Analysis
  8. Click Combine Results.
This evaluates the combined effect of the selected loadsteps on the E-Lines and plots all the required results, relative displacement and histograms.

Combined Loading Options

Description of various Combined Loadings options.

See Combined Loadings for more information.
Loading Type
List 1 allows selection of Dynamic or Static loading.
List 2 allows selection of Static loading only.
Affects Gap
Defines if the loading selected does or does not affect the gap.
OFF
Both the selected loadcases do not affect the original gap.
Plotting is performed by combining the relative displacements.
Gap +/- tolerance remains same.
ON
Corresponding loadcase affects the nominal gap and are updated as follows-
New Gap = Nominal Gap - Relative Displacement of Loadcase (with Affects Gap On) in Z direction.
Min Gap = New Gap - Tolerance
Max Gap = New Gap + Tolerance
Session Type
Summary Analysis- Perform only a summary analysis and to view basic results.
Full Analysis- Perform full analysis and to check the effects.
