Munich, Germany

Calculate urban propagation in the city of Munich using the COST 231 - extended Walfisch-Ikegami model.

Model Type

The geometry is described by topography (elevation) and by urban buildings, see Figure 1. Each building is modeled as an extruded polygon. The database was preprocessed; therefore result prediction height and result resolution are fixed.

Figure 1. The topographic and urban buildings overview of the model.

Figure 2. The power results for Site 2 Ant 2.

Sites and Antennas

The model has three sites with three different antennas placed at different locations and heights of 20 m, 28 m, and 30 m. The frequency of propagation is 1.8 GHz, and the transmitter power of an antenna is 43 dBm.

Tip: Click Project > Edit Project Parameter and click the Sites tab to view the antenna settings.

Results

Propagation results show at every location the power received by a hypothetical isotropic receiver from each transmitting antenna. See Figure 2 for the results of Site 2 Antenna 2, at a receiver height of 1.5 m.
