Exporting Data to PDF Files
With Monarch Classic, you can export extracted report data to a PDF file. If your table has a large number of fields (i.e., columns), you may want to hide unnecessary fields via the Field List window (hidden fields will not be exported) before attempting to export the data to a PDF file. You may also consider adjusting the column widths to include as much of the data as possible.
Notes:
-
Because PDF is a page-oriented format, the width of PDF files is dictated by the settings on Monarch Classic’s Page Setup window. Before exporting to a PDF file, you may want to alter some of these settings. For example, under the Pagination for Excel and PDF heading, you may want to select a larger paper size, such as "A2",as your Paper Size setting.
-
You may also want to specify an Orientation setting of "Landscape" to maximize the amount of data you can fit on a page, as Monarch Classic will truncate any data that does not fit the selected page width when exporting to a PDF file. To modify these settings, select File tab, then Page Setup to display the Page Setup window.
-
You may also want to consider decreasing the font size of your table or summary if you want to export a very wide data set to a PDF file. Even a font size as small as 6 will look fine in a PDF viewer using the zoom feature. If you have long text in the fields, you may also want to change the row height. You can then readjust the column width when the text wraps.
